Day 1 Recap: NFL FLAG Championships Presented by Toyota

 

 

The NFL FLAG Championships Presented by Toyota kicked off with an incredible Day 1, bringing together youth athletes, their families, coaches, our International teams, and supporters from across the country. It served as a reminder that this isn’t just a tournament—this is where the passion for flag football comes together. Let’s dive into some of the most memorable moments.

Fan Fest

 

The day started with Fan Fest, where players engaged with our partners, including Oakley and Toyota, while picking up their swag—Nike backpacks and bucket hats. They ran the 40-yard dash, dined at food trucks, and took the stage to share what flag football means to them.  

RCX Sports Foundation

 

With the recent launch of the RCX Sports Foundation, team members were present at Fan Fest hosting a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle, featuring signed NFL helmets and footballs from 30 NFL Clubs. Proceeds were donated to their mission of making flag football accessible to all.

Players of the Year Finalists Announced

 

 

 

Congratulations to Adeline Chilek, Josie Clayton, Krista Quinn, Sarah Colchamiro, and Serenity Simon, our 18u female NFL FLAG Player of the Year finalists. 

 

 

 

And another round of congratulations to Alex Kramer, Andrew Sitar, Daniel Berry, Gavin Otto, and Ryan Gist, our 15u male finalists. These young athletes represent the best of NFL FLAG, showcasing exceptional skill on the field, maintaining excellence in academics, and embodying the core values of the NFL: Respect, Integrity, Responsibility to Team, and Resiliency.

 

 

In addition to being named NFL FLAG Players of the Year, the winners will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for themselves and a parent or guardian to the NFL Honors award show in New Orleans in February 2025. They will walk the red carpet alongside NFL players, celebrating their achievements in front of a national audience. Follow their journey with us next year!

Let the Games Begin

 

With 280 teams competing this weekend, our pool play games kicked off, featuring 15U, 18UG, 13U Rec, and International teams. Athletes showcased their skills and brought immense energy to the field from the get-go. 

Opening Ceremony: Coach of the Year 

 

Lastly, we celebrated our players during an opening ceremony, where they proudly walked the stage and enjoyed fireworks. We also awarded the 2024 NFL FLAG Coaches of the Year! Huge congrats to:

  • 18uG - Coach Ralph Graham of GSA (FL)
  • 15uB - Coach Derek Frye of Metro Select (TX)
